Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Front & Rear Sumo Springs
Just installed
the Sumo Springs I ordered and oh WOW!!!!! That is the finishing touches to my suspension on my 32 ft Class C on an E450 chassis and love the results. Bought our coach a year ago and installed Hellwig sway bars ( front & Rear ) Bilstien shocks and Safe T Plus Steering control and that made a huge difference to drivability but then decided to add Sumo Springs, Oh My Goodness with all that I’ve done our coach drive down the highways and byways rock solid. The sumos weren’t to difficult to install considering this ole man has had 3 back surgeries and 2 bad knees but we got it done and I was blown away on the test drive. I highly recommend the Sumo products.

Still love the Sumos, they do their job. Class C is so much more a pleasure t drive even in wind and large semi trucks passing by, barely a wiggle. I would highly recommend these on any motorhome

by:

Helped with taking roll out of suspension going down the road

by:
Honda Odyssey

I put these on the rear of my 2022 Entegra Odyssey 26M and they were a game changer. They really help with the swaying. I added the 500 lb springs to the from as well and it was a different world driving past or getting past semi trucks. I think these should come standard on RVs. I will never own another RV without these spring installed. I also added the roadmaster steering stabilizer that helped me go from white knuckle driving to chill driving with 2 fingers. All 3 of these things were adddd at the same time and it was like driving a completely different vehicle.

by:

I have had these on for a year, very very happy with the results. Really settled the ride, much more controlled less sway. Drove to Alaska this summer, felt very controlled hitting those frost heaves on the Alcan, never bottomed out at all. Would definitely purchase again.

Documentation can be improved.

Installation
was fairly easy but I think I had to do it out of sequence from the directions. Removal of the OEM was cumbersome because the muffler bend got in the way. Once the OEM was removed, we dry fit the mounting bracket and started to thread on the nut when I tried to install the mounting bolt for the spring. No way. We then did a visual fit of the spring and spacer. Once we were sure both would fit, we removed the mounting bracket and assembled the entire thing before installing the bracket again. Worked out much easier. The driver side was more difficult due to a bracket being installed almost on top of where we needed to work.

Got the OEM out and followed the same procedures as we did for the passenger side. Driver side was more of the "blind" type of work. You could feel it, but not see it.

In the end, we needed ratcheting box end combination wrenches to get everything out and new stuff installed. The standard torque wrench worked fine but you'll need a pair of pliers to hold the mounting bracket while torquing the spring bolt.

All in all, both sides took about 1.5 hours. Well worth it because the ride is so much better with these installed.

2018 Jayco Greyhawk Motorhome

I found these springs while researching a towing question. I was more than impressed with portrayal of part, adequate info and glowing reviews. I was further delighted by speed of arrival and impressed with branding of the packaging. Top notch. Front and back installed in about an hour. Instructions are clear. I did find it easier to pre-assemble the stop to the bracket in order to determine if I was going to use the spacer or not. (I did). Note on this RV chassis, the bracket mount stud had to also clear an additional harness bracket. There was adequate threads for locknut

by:
2022 Ford E-Series Cutaway

Easy install on rear. I bolted the Sumos to the bracket before placing bracket on frame. Then, I jacked the vehicle frame up and installed. Passenger side a little tighter than driver's side, but job took less than 30 mins. I also used the spacer so the Sumos would be in contact and somewhat compressed upon initial install. They worked great and really made a difference in reducing the top-heavy sway. I had already installed Sumos on front.

Good product. Still working as advertised. Probably one of the best upgrades we did to the RV.

by:

Installed on our 2017 E450 Sunseeker only took 45 minutes from start to finish, didn’t install the spacers & they are sitting on the axle, we’ll see how it rides first. Have front sumos for a year now & helped out allot

by:
Thor

took 35 mins to install the rear springs this was a game changer for my thor quantum E450.its a 2019

by:

They r great helped with ride and sway.

by:

Wow! What a difference in handling! Wish I’d this when I purchased my RV!

by:
2018 Ford E-Series Cutaway

Installed these on our 24' 2018 Sunseeker. Need small hands to get past the wiring and fuel lines in order to access the bolts to remove the old bump stops and install the new spring assembly. Insructions say to install the bracket first, then bolt on the springs. I found it easier to do the assembly on the work bench. I found there was enough space to install the entire assembly into position if the motor home was raised by the frame. I used thread lock gel on the bolts for added security. So far very pleased with the way the motor home handles on the road. No more sway on those twisty mountain roads. Also the rear skids no longer drag when exiting our driveway. On this short and relatively light motor home I did not find it necessary to use the spacers as this would have likely made the ride too stiff. Will recommend these to my sister who also has a Ford based motor home.

SumoSprings are working just fine. Wished they would of provided a flat pad for them to rest on instead of the rounded axle housing they rest on now.

2021 Ford E-Series Cutaway

Easy to install and made a bigger difference then the front axle ones

by:

Installed on:
2007 GMC 2500 HD Sierra
Classic, Ext Cab 2wd, single rear wheels.

Simple and direct installation (just follow the instructions) and the provided videos.
Easier when the rear wheels are removed.

Upgraded front at the same time as the rear.
Been meaning to do this since 2015, when I installed a set on my shuttle bus.

Back to the 2500HD.

1. Rear sag/sway greatly reduced and it really showed its strength towing a 7500lb trailer to Georgia from MD.
2. Overall ride improved by my estimate by about 40%.

Highly recommend the Summo Springs.

by:
Thor

SumoSprings really improved the ride on my 2018 Thor Axis 24.1
It is much easier to drive the twisty roads in the mountains with this product because the motorhome does not lean as much.

by:
Thor

The sumo springs in the front of my 2018 Thor 27.7 worked well. The ones on the rear did not perform as well as the front. I should have gone with the next better set.

by:

Yes I would buy again. A little stiffer ride but it does cut down on leaning, handles well. Class C 30' F450

by:

Install was fairly straight forward with no surprises. Stiffened up ride and really helped with side to side rebound when cornering.
Performance has met my expectations.

by:
2017 Ford E-Series Cutaway

I received my sumo springs in a timely manner and installation was straight forward. I’m hoping this will add stability to my motor home. Time will tell.

Installed on a Thor Fourwinds 28Z amazing the difference noted with the improvement in road stability and handling. Could not be happier with the installation on the RV.

by:
Thor

It fits the 2017 C-class E350 Thor Chateau without the need for the 1" spacer. This product has better fit than its heavy duty counterpart.

by:
2018 Thor Freedom Elite Motorhome

Installed on my 2018 29’ Thor freedom elite in about 1hr. And I’m 68 year old. Went for a drive and loved them so I ordered for the front. Next Monday we’re heading to Pigeon Forge Tn.

by:

Great company. will continue to use them, fast delivery when in stock.
